Leveled Readers

 

  • What They Are: Books categorized by reading level, focusing more on comprehension and fluency than phonics skills.
  • Downside: They often encourage guessing based on pictures or context instead of decoding.

 

The Importance of Authentic Decodable Readers in First Grade
