Careers at CSAS

Come build the click.

Somewhere right now, a kindergartner is one great teacher away from reading, and that teacher is one great coach away from greatness. We hire the career educators other educators talk about: former teachers, principals, and state leaders who have personally moved reading data and want to do it across 87 schools instead of one.

Take the Test: Is This You?

The 60-Second Test

Is this you? Five honest questions.

We would rather lose an applicant than lower the bar. Answer all five and get a straight verdict; nobody sees your answers but you.

Have you personally moved a classroom’s or a building’s reading data, and can you show the before and after?

Have you done the job of the person you would be coaching: carried the roster, the schedule, or the keys?

Do you know the science of reading deeply enough to respectfully disagree with a program?

Can you coach an adult through a hard conversation and leave the relationship stronger than you found it?

Does “good enough for these kids” quietly offend you?

The Work, Hour by Hour

A coaching day, the way we actually run it.

No two days are identical, but every day is in a school. Select each hour.

Badge on before the buses arrive. Coffee with the principal, a look at today’s schedule, and a walk through the halls where the front office knows your name, because you are not a visitor here. You are part of this building’s year.

Before You Apply

Asked by every serious candidate.

Who does CSAS hire?

Career educators. Our consultants have been teachers, principals, special educators, and state education leaders, and most are trained in structured literacy approaches such as LETRS and Orton-Gillingham. We hire people who have personally moved reading data and can prove it, because our own results are verified against benchmark source data, and yours will be too.

Where is the work?

In schools, beside teachers and leaders, which is the entire point. Our partnerships run across New York City and state, statewide in Mississippi, and in Washington DC, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Maryland, with 300+ coaching days delivered every year. Roles involve regular on-site work in partner schools.

What makes consulting at CSAS different?

Three things. We sell no products, so you will never push a program for a commission; your only agenda is the student data. Our results are source-verified, so your work is measured honestly. And you coach beside the teacher, in the classroom, during real lessons, not from the back of the room with a checklist.

How do I apply?
